The Dodgson name is synonymous with real estate in Grand Rapids. After World War II, Glenwood Dodgson dabbled in commercial and investment real estate as a hobby. He owned property from Charlotte to Charlevoix, and at one time owned 27 beauty salons across Michigan. He passed down his passion for real estate to his children and grandchildren who eventually became professional real estate brokers, establishing well-respected businesses that serviced the Grand Rapids market since 1971.
Following his grandfather’s passion, Ryan Dodgson began his real estate career shortly after the market crash of 2008. Having served as a stockbroker and financial consultant for years, Ryan decided to leave finance and embark on a new journey of his own. Adhering to the old stockbroker’s motto of, “buy low, sell high”, he began with a few private sales and investment properties, ultimately joining his uncle’s real estate brokerage in 2012. At the same time, Ryan launched a career in property management, overseeing hundred of units from Lansing to Grand Rapids. Over time, the properties flourished and sales began snowballing. In 2017, Ryan decided to open his own brokerage and Dodgson Land Co. was born. Since then we have proudly grown to 7 agents, and have assisted in hundreds of land and home sales, as well as leases.
Being industrious and hardworking, the Dodgson name is synonymous with evenness, fairness, and the desire to ensure an equitable deal for all parties. Our honest, direct, and “no-nonsense” style fortified by deep area roots and financial “know-how”, set us apart from the barrage of “big-box” real estate companies.
